About this experience

The ADVENTURE BALLOON RIDE invites you to live a different and amazing balloon experience over Catalonia landscapes. You will discover, from the sky, the countryside of Catalonia, beautiful valleys and emerald forests, between Barcelona and the Pyrenees mountains. You will be floating in the air during 2 hours, a much longer flight in duration than the other standard balloon tours, and finish the adventure with a brunch in a typical Catalonian restaurant. The concept is to head to the take off site according to the weather forecast, for that reason we will keep secret the launch field until last moment .... this is real adventure !

Overview

Activity's description

The activity starts at dawn with the picking up of the passengers at the meeting point. Then, the passengers are transferred in our 4WD vehicle to the take off site. Once there, the passengers can help the ballooning team to prepare and inflate the hot air balloon. When the balloon is up, we take off for a 2 hour balloon flight. The wind is the master of our way up the Catalonian landscapes. During the flight, passengers can enjoy a cup of Cava champagne. The landing marks the end of our ride. The "chase crew" comes to collect the balloon and the passengers, then transfers everybody to a local restaurant and have a brunch. To finish passengers will receive their first flight certificate signed by the pilot.

Days of activity

We operate all year long on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday. We can operate any day if we have a minimum of 4 participants or for those who decide to book the "private" balloon flight option.

Duration of the experience

We operate one flight per day, by the morning only, just after sunrise. Starting time varies according to season, on summer at 6:00 am and winter at 8:00 am. The whole activity lasts 4 hours in total, including up to 2 hour in flight.

Hot air balloon flight over CATALONIA

The exact flying area will be kept secret until last moment, but in order for you to have an idea of what you will see from the balloon, also according to pilot´s mood and vagary of the weather, hereafter a piece of famous points of interest : Pla de Busa, the Parador de Vic, the Lluçanès valley area, the surrounding of Manresa, Montserrat mountain, the Sierra del Cadí, the Parador of Cardona, surrounding of Berga city in the pre-Pyrenees, Osona area, Bages area, Montseny Natural Park and even more. We will set up a meeting point in Vic city and from there you will go into our 4WD trucks and get to the take off site,

Location : central Catalonia, located 45min / 70km North of Barcelona. Local Meeting point : cafeteria NOU PAMPLONA or ZEFIR in Vic city. Go by car : 45min. from Barcelona by highway AP-7 and C-17, way out "Vic Sur". Go by train : 55 min. from Barcelona, from "Plaça Cataluña". Pick up service from Barcelona

We offer a transfer service from Barcelona, pick up and drop off from the famous Plaza Cataluña (Catalonia Square) centrally located. You will be driven in our vehicle directly to the flying area, then first stopped in a cafeteria for a quick coffee break before heading to the launch site.

Meeting point in BARCELONA : in front of the Hard Rock Café, located 21 Plaza de Cataluña, 08002 Barcelona. Pick up time : between 6.00, 6.30 and 7.00 am (exact time to be confirmed according to season) Also, we can study a pick up service directly at your hotel or appartment in Barcelona if we have few passengers to be picked up. Just inquire at moment of booking.

Flying season

In Catalonia, it is possible to fly all year long. In fact, flying in winter offers some interesting advantages for the passengers: the weather is generally more stable what allows a longer flight and you can get up later as dawn takes place later in the morning.

Good weather condition for a good flight

Hot-air ballooning is weather dependent. To ensure the flight, we absolutely need to have weak winds (less than 20 kmph) and no rain. In case of unsuitable weather conditions we would offer to passengers alternatives dates.

Restriction

A hot-air balloon ride is a very safe activity but in order for our passengers to avoid running any risk, we advise pregnant women and children under 6 not to fly.

Prices for a hot air balloon flight

We offer a SHARED flight with other passengers in the same balloon, and the possibility to make a PRIVATE flight (only you in the balloon with the pilot). As an additional service, we also offer a transfer service from Barcelona city, pick up and drop off, for those who have no cars to reach the flying area.

Prices and Options

The activity includes

- Flight organization, the ballooning team (pilot+crew member).
- Third party insurance according to European law Nº785/2004.
- Briefing, preparation and inflation of the balloon.
- Hot air balloon flight of approx. 2 hour in duration.
- Cava toast and soft drinks on board.
- Landing, balloon and passengers recovery by the chase crew.
- Transfer in 4WD vehicle from and to meeting point in Vic city.
- Brunch in a typical local restaurant.
- Delivery of first flight certificates signed by the pilot.

Exclusive cancellation policy for non-resident : in case of unsuitable weather conditions the day of the flight, you will be provided the option to take the balloon tour on an alternative date or be refunded in full (except Gift certicates that are not refundable). Customers must inform us at moment of booking.
